I am passionate about dismantling systems of oppression.

As a BIPOC immigrant from the Dominican Republic, my unique background has led me to become a champion for marginalized communities.

How did I get here?


Meet Alexandra, a seasoned leader and champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a BIPOC immigrant from the Dominican Republic, she is passionate about social impact and equity.

Alexandra is the founder of Poder Capital, a fintech company looking to close the 60 Billion dollar lending gap for Latinx small businesses that are locked out of the U.S. traditional lending market.

She also leads a consulting practice that supports the transformation of social justice-oriented leaders, government agencies, public sector organizations, and businesses actively working to create a more just and equitable world.

Alexandra has over 15 years of experience in government, nonprofit management, and media.

She has worked with various federal, state, and city government officials. Alexandra completed her Master’s in American History, where she focused on studying the history of inequality in the U.S.

She also holds an Executive Master's in Business Administration from Brown University and IE Business School.

By using my unique perspective, I strive to make a difference in the lives of others.

In her most recent roles, Alexandra served as Co-Branch Chief, Forward Planning at the NYC Vaccine Command Center and Co-Chair of the NYC Task Force on Racial Inclusion & Equity's Vaccine Equity Sub-Committee. She also served as the Executive Director of Programs at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.

She led a team of 20+ program experts in creating innovative service interventions and campaigns that have served over 200,000 immigrant New Yorkers. In 2009, she co-founded the nonprofit organization Immigrant Advancement Matters (I.A.M.).

Alexandra comes from a long line of women of color committed to dismantling systems of oppression.
